Dr. Shane Shepard specializes in Family Medicine & enjoys caring for patients throughout the full spectrum of ages. His special interests include sports medicine & dermatologic disorders. His personal goal is to form a working partnership with his patients by jointly agreeing on lifestyle changes, medical intervention, & commitment to these efforts that will result in their improved health and well-being.
Dr. Shepard attended undergraduate school at the University of North Florida graduating magna cum laude in Biology with a minor in Psychology. During this time he also enjoyed representing his University as a leading member of the varsity soccer team. After undergraduate school and prior to giving his full measure of devotion to medicine, Dr. Shepard spent a short time working as an environmental ecologist.
Dr. Shepard attended St. George’s University School of Medicine where he was provided an opportunity to learn and work in Newcastle, England and Grenada, West Indies. There, he was able to experience each of their unique approaches to medicine and health care delivery. After graduating medical school, he completed a 3 year Family Medicine Residency at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC.
When Dr. Shepard is not at work he enjoys spending time with his son, Tristan, and his wife, Dr. Angelica Nangit who practices Rheumatology in nearby Oxnard, CA. His hobbies include canyon running and all matter of water sports. Most importantly, Dr. Shepard is a passionate Miami Dolphins fan, but is willing to look past this allegiance if any Patriots fans are looking for a physician!
